Projects
2010 - The Kiosk Renovation Project
In 2009, Modbury Hospital
management and the Foundation Board agreed to undertake a modernisation of The
Kiosk.
For many years Modbury Hospital
Kiosk has been the only place for hospital staff and visitors to purchase food
and beverages.
Foundation volunteers have
worked really hard to meet and maintain service standards, making do with
limited resources, particularly in the kitchen area, this situation has become
very challenging.
The Foundation has been
hampered in delivering a wider menu selection and ensuring a quick and efficient
service to all customers. Also The Kiosk area is not designed for wheelchair
and mobility impaired access.
The introduction of the SA
Healthy Foods policy this year has been a further catalyst for the Foundation to
undertake a much needed modernisation of The Kiosk.
The Foundation has been raising
funds for several years for this project and is now ready to commence Phase 1.
This will include a kitchen upgrade, a new improved layout with quick service
queue, new tables and chairs - all in modern and welcoming colours.
The new kitchen will also mean
a wider menu that includes, hot meals, salads and other healthy food choices.
The Foundation is pleased it
can better serve the community by our exciting Kiosk modernisation in 2010.
